Chrysler extends dealer network to Kent

Being from Kent and working at Broadsure Direct based in Ramsgate, Kent, we just can’t help but prick up our ears when you hear the words Chrysler and Kent in the same sentence.

It turns out that due to some noticeable profits last year, Chrysler are making steps forward to extend their dealer network. They started at the end of last year when they added 7 new names to their list and continue by coming down to Kent and signing up Ashford Orbital as their next dealer. Currently Ashford Orbital already do business for Mazda, Kia and Hyundai. It’ll be interesting to see how Chrysler do this year with the end of the scrappage scheme and the economy getting itself back on track!

Super Fast Ferrari sets new Nurburgring Record

On the 23rd April, the 7 minute barrier was broken on the Nordschleife circuit by the Ferrari 599XX. Its the first production-derived car to do it, based on the 599 GTO.

The car used a V12 engine from the 599 Fiorano with added modifications and developments. The final time for the lap was 6 minutes 58 seconds.

MG Returns with New “Zero”

Last year, MG released information of their new family car which should be coming out later this year. The MG6 was announced way back in November and according to the factory in the UK, the ZF is back in production so things are looking up for MG. Last Friday in the Beijing Motor Show, they released further information on the next car to be released, the Zero Concept. This is a 3/5 door hatchback which looks just a slick as the old ZR. Hoping to compete with the likes of the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo, MG are seeming quite confident that the Zero will hit a global market. The interior of the vehicle looks stunning and it sounds like the car is going to be packed with all latest gadgets.

New Internet service could benefit Motor Traders

Internet giant Google have already “wowed” the world with its Google Street Map views of the world, enabling you to effectively walk around entire city’s without even leaving your home. Well the service currently only shows exterior views of buildings but Google are offering an extended service to Motor Traders/Dealers who wish to show off the interior of their premises/showrooms. Its a great opportunity for the traders to create a great impression of their interior and exterior and entice consumers to visit. Immediately people will be able to know more about their business and what to expect when visiting.

Electronic Insurance Certificates

The ability to offer motor insurance certificates online will become part of legislation as of this month. Some insurance certificates are already offered online by some companies. As legislation is going to be amended, more and more insurance companies will eventually offer this facility and even the ability to send the insurance certificate via email. The idea is going to save the insurance industry millions and will greatly help the environment. More information is being exchanged over the internet and online so this is a great step in the right direction.

Nissan are next to offer their own scrappage scheme

Following in the footsteps of Vauxhall and Kia, Nissan traders are now offering their own discounts on new cars if their old cars are traded in. They are accepting cars that are as young as 7 years old, and are offering up to £2,000 offer certain new models of car. These include the new Micra, Note, Qashqai and Qashaqai+2. By lowering the age to only 7 years, they are likely to grab a high percentage of new car sales and most certainly boost the economy. The scheme is said to expire by June.

Vauxhall offer March promotion

Following in similar steps to Kia, Vauxhall have now introduced a promotion throughout march which they hope will boost sales after the scrappage scheme has ended. They are dropping the prices of some of their new entry level vehicles, whilst keeping the same specifications to try and entise customers in.

£1,000 will be knocked off the price of the new Corsa and £2,000 will be discounted off the new entry level Astra. The discounts are going to spread as far as other models such as the Insignia. The price reduction comes with the new ES & Expression range Vauxhall are pushing. This is the second car manufacturer to produce offers which fall in line with the scrappage scheme ending. Motor Trader’s launch their own scrappage schemes

Kia dealers are now going to offer up to £2,000 for cars traded in over 7 years and up to 10 years as long as they have a valid MOT certificate. The only car that is not covered by the deal is the newly released car, the Sorento.

Now that the government’s scrappage scheme has ended, motor traders are cashing in on the idea and launching their own to boost sales. Kia particularly are only running theirs until the end of March in an attempt to boost the brand. Time will tell to see if other traders are going to follow suit. Scrappage scheme ends

The end of March marks the end of the scrappage scheme, with a massive 330,000 cars sold since it began. Introduced last year to help the economic crysis, the scrappage scheme has helped motor traders sell so many cars that now that the country is finally out of a recession, the economic growth is hoped to continue. With the huge amount of cars sold means that the emissions of cars on the road has greatly decreased which is a positive move forward.

The scheme was extended twice since its introduction in May last year to continue to help struggling motor traders. But with the credit crunch now over and economy on the rise, its time for it to end. Visit Broadsure Direct if you would like a quote on motor trade insurance and fill out our form online!
