..and now for some news on Business Insurance

Here at the Broadsure Direct blog, we don’t usually mention or write articles related to Business Insurance, which is unsual as Broadsure Direct offer competitive rates on Business Insurance. We thought we mix it up a little with some news on a new package being offered by insurance company NIG.

It focuses on small – medium sized businesses and the quoting system has been altered, enabling you to get far more compeitive and flexible pricing through insurance brokers. For larger risks, the Royal Bank of Scotland are offering new no claims discounts with broker discretion to enable even more savings for customers. Hyundai Scoop massive fleet deal worth £7m

The new i30 from Hyundai is already proving a very popular car with its excellent reliability and fuel consumption. It won the award for the UKs most reliable car beating Jaguar who was the previous winner. Because of this, the driving school Bill Plant has decided to take on 600 i30 vehicles to build on their already large amount of i20 fleet cars. The deal is estimated at £7 million at show room prices and the excellent fuel consumption from the i30 seemed to be its major selling point to the driving school. The cars are set to start being delivered in the next month. If you have a fleet of vehicles then you can get a quote for fleet insurance from Broadsure Direct. Visit our fleet insurance page for more information.

Government transport rules

Today the governments rules and plans were unveiled, more specifically, transport plans. There some interesting points in which they have made, firstly for our hgv insurance customers, the government plans to introduce a system in which hgv drivers will be charged to ensure that UK hauliers meet a new fair usage policy.

General motor plans in which our motor trade insurance customers may find useful is that the newly formed government are planning a national recharging network for all the new hybrid and fully electric vehicles that are going to be growing in popularity. Something in which the government is highly focused on is cutting emissions. Lastly, they are going to put a stop to central funding for fixed speed cameras. We’ll let you be the judge on that last one.

Chrysler extends dealer network to Kent

Being from Kent and working at Broadsure Direct based in Ramsgate, Kent, we just can’t help but prick up our ears when you hear the words Chrysler and Kent in the same sentence.

It turns out that due to some noticeable profits last year, Chrysler are making steps forward to extend their dealer network. They started at the end of last year when they added 7 new names to their list and continue by coming down to Kent and signing up Ashford Orbital as their next dealer. Currently Ashford Orbital already do business for Mazda, Kia and Hyundai. It’ll be interesting to see how Chrysler do this year with the end of the scrappage scheme and the economy getting itself back on track!

12 MILLION cars in 11 months!

Its a new record for China! They have never made more than 10 million cars in a year but this time they have smashed the record and its not even the end of the year yet! Predictions are that the final figure for cars manufactured is 13 million.

There could be many reasons why a sudden burst of manufactured cars and sales has happened this year but there has been a drop in tax price for smaller cars. Like the UK, China have introduced a scheme whereby people can trade in their old cars for discount on newer cars.

Massive 17 Year Deal to Host Grand Prix

It has been in the news recently that Silverstone, the British Grand Prix track is going to host to British Grand Prix for up to 17 years! Starting from 2010. There is a lot of development to be done on the track, pit lanes etc but it’s all in planning now that they have got the deal.

Now that the deal is going ahead, Great Britain and its drivers will always have a Great British Grand Prix track to come home to  at some point in the F1 Season. For people that know Silverstone and maybe even raced their cars on it know of its history and how much it will bring to have it re-developed onto the Formula 1 Calendar.

Fancy a new car for Xmas? These people do…

New car sales in November have gone way up by more than 50%, quite clearly these people are feeling like treating themselves this Christmas! One temptation may be that the uk government scrappage scheme is still going strong offering massive discounts on new cars in exchange for old ones. Who knows whether these increase of sales is because of Christmas or the scrappage scheme with things coming to an end early next year, it’s not likely it’ll continue. Good news for insurance companies who must be getting lots of new business from the increase in car sales.

Busy Day for Insurance Claims

It is predicted that on the 19th of this month, it is going to be a busy day for insurance claims. This being its the last Saturday before Christmas and is likely that insurance companies will be busy with people in the mad rush of doing last minute Christmas shopping. Apparently around this time the number of insurance claims rise every year. Another busy time for insurance companies is in October when the clocks go back and people are running late and not realised. Our advice is to probably not head out on the 19th and get everything done before hand, save your no claims bonus!
