Expanding on the Volvo truck safety article mentioned in previous blog posts. Today we look at the ART (Accident Research Team) and how they function to help prevent road traffic accidents and save lives.

Firstly, its worth noting that 9 out of 10 accidents are down to human error and only 10 % of those accidents include the truck drivers getting killed. So ART have got to be asking the right questions and making the right decisions first of all, before they can start developing any new technology.

When all of the data has been collected and analysed, along with the right questions being asked; research can acutally be conducted to develop ideas and technologies to better improve truck safety. ART celebrate their 40th anniversary at Volvo this year.
