Super Fast Ferrari sets new Nurburgring Record

On the 23rd April, the 7 minute barrier was broken on the Nordschleife circuit by the Ferrari 599XX. Its the first production-derived car to do it, based on the 599 GTO.

The 599XX has had many modifications from the GTO and some of which have actually been included now into the 599 GTO, the 599XX is of course designed for track racing but not necessarily official competitions. The car combined the new Actiflow system which has been developed to increase downforce was used for the first time and other minor tweaks which meant the amount of downforce at high speeds was incredible (up to 630kg at top speed). The car used a V12 engine from the 599 Fiorano with added modifications and developments. The final time for the lap was 6 minutes 58 seconds.
