Building affordable housing is rarely straightforward, but few construction mistakes are as unfortunate as designing a building that effectively helps rainwater find its way indoors.


That's the situation facing a seafront council housing development in Southwick, where dozens of brand-new flats have been delayed after inspectors uncovered a serious flaw linked to work carried out by a previous contractor.

For future tenants waiting on the development, it's a frustrating setback.
